Sonia’s first project at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas were four large mosaic murals. The walls, each approximately 8′ high by 17′ wide are featured on four new patient floors. Created from a varied mix of materials, the mosaics are designed to be visually stimulating as well as texturally engaging.
The walls won an international Spectrum Award recognizing creativity and the Nature wall was featured on the cover of Healthcare Design Magazine.
Nature Wall. Each curved wall has a theme: Shapes, Symbols, Balloons and Nature. Not only do the elements change size and color as they move across the wall, but the background also changes color as it flows from left to right. The ‘fresco grout’ is unique and created by layering the colors by hand.
